"Open Source Software"

By John LeMasney
and Doug Powell

John LeMasney will be our speaker at the September General Meeting. John is the manager of Instructional Technology at Rider University where he assists the faculty in integrating technology into teaching and learning effectively.

John was, also, the inaugural Chief Marketing Officer for the Linux Users Group in Princeton (LUG/IP)

John's presentation is "Open Source Software".   At present the use of the internet and its enabling of diverse production models, communication paths, and interactive communities has enabled Open Source Software to become the most prominent face of Open Source practices.

The presentation will give us an overview of Open Source Software. The speaker will also speak on Linux in depth as well as giving many applications for Windows and Mac OS.

Be with us on Sept 21 and find out why business users, home users and even those who don't use computers are excited about the Open Source movement.
