Steven Stillman
Business Development Specialist
The Microsoft Store in Freehold

Last minute change in speaker:
Kevin DuBois and Cynthia Sebastian,  Microsoft business & community development specialists, spoke to us about the new Microsoft Store and more importantly, new Microsoft products coming soon to this store, near us.

Introducing the Microsoft Store:

Windows 8, X-box, and more!

MEETING DATE: November 16, 2012

This year, Monmouth County welcomed a new neighbor – the Microsoft Store at Freehold Mall. The Apple Store has been a mainstay and a destination for years, but now one can go to the Mall to check out the latest from Microsoft as well. If, like me, you were unable to travel there with our CyberQuickies workshop, now is your chance to catch up with the Microsoft Store. Let's return the hospitality for Steven Stillman, who is our November speaker.

Steve is the store's Business Development Specialist and has been there since June, when it opened. He will present an overview of what the store has inside. He will describe for us some of the features of the store and what it offers. He will give us information on products including the most popular items. He will give us some very interesting insights into the latest Microsoft software releases, and tell us about the connection to Microsoft Certified Partners. Other features of the store that Steve will talk about are workshops, community events, product selection, and of course, technical support.

Of course, when we mention the latest Microsoft software, the new O/S, Windows 8, comes to mind. Here, there are definitely some new features, as Windows 8 sports an innovative interface that just may change everything you thought about Windows. I for one am definitely interested in what Windows 8 can do for me and how it can improve my online experience. Steve will be able to answer our questions about what's coming next. What will be different or the same? What will make us want to upgrade to this new O/S? Should we wait until the bugs, if any, are worked out?

If you are a gamer or just thinking about buying an X-Box or giving it as a holiday gift, Steve can give us some ideas, then, you can simply visit the store and get ideas there. In the meanwhile, Steve will mention some of these, since it is a big part of what the younger crowd is interested in and is using the Microsoft store for.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys family life and also volunteers his time at non-profits that are connected to his favorite interests.

To sum it up, we are hoping that you will come away with, according to Steve, “...an awareness that Microsoft now offers a local and public presence that can and will support all technology users (yes even Apple/Mac) from everyday users to engineers running Project Std, to small and medium sized business users to Xbox, Xbox Kinect gamers.”

We look forward to seeing you at MAS-100 and learning about the Microsoft store together.
