Holiday Tech 2016 - Riding the Mobile Digital Revolution

The digital revolution keeps exploding, and continually extending mobile devices into our lives -- from enhancing our senses with drones and VR goggles to connecting us with remote devices that monitor our homes and even our own health.

For this fifteenth edition of his Holiday Tech coverage, Doug Dixon is back to demonstrate more fun examples of the latest cool devices. We also will look back to see the amazing innovation in mobile digital products that got us to this point, and look forward to the possibilities of the future.

So come and check out the new gadgets hands-on, and enjoy some fun artifacts of the past, to see how far we've come as we ride the mobile digital revolution.

Fifteen years ago the growth line of digital technology and storage passed legacy analog, launching the mobile digital revolution of the 2000s. Or, more viscerally, 2002 also was the year that the Encyclopaedia Britannica discontinued its print edition, 244 years after its first publication.

The last past decade and a half has seen amazing innovation in digital products -- cell phones and PDAs to smartphones, CD and MP3 players to media players, hard disks to flash memory, laptops to netbooks and convertibles, and Web to cloud and social media.
