Born in Yreka, California.

Jere entered the US Navy in 1960 from Hillsdale, New Jersey, and served in Submarines for 20 years as a computer operator for Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Weapons Systems: Polaris, Poseidon and Trident. He was a Navy Instructor for the Trident Missile System for 3 years. After retirement from the Navy, he was employed by the Department of the Navy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, VA; as a Computer Systems Analyst for 17 years.

After final retirement in Dec. 1996, Jere moved to Florida and worked in a computer shop. He also taught Basic Computers to his neighbors in the community. In 2001, he moved to Adult Community, established a Computer training facility and started teaching Basic Computers to the local senior residents.

Jere joined the Lake-Sumter Computer Society (www.LSCS.US) at Lake-Sumter State College, Leesburg, Florida, and served as Publicity Chairman, and Programs Director. Jere started Basic Computers seminars for members of the Lake-Sumter Computer Society in a computer classroom at the college.

Currently, Jere teaches classes in Windows 7, 8.1, 10, iPad, and iPhone, at the Leesburg Library, for Lake-Sumter Computer Society at the college, and holds numerous Technical Webinars for User Groups across the country. He is a member of the APCUG Speakers Bureau and a frequent presenter for APCUG Virtual Technology Conferences.

Jere has 3 grown married children, 4 adult Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He lives with Joyce in a 55+ community in Leesburg, Fl.
