About Jon and Colleen

Jon retired after a career as an engineer and plant manager in the chemical industry. His love of computers began at work where he enjoyed creating spreadsheets and programming da- tabases to assist in the plant operations. In the early 1980’s, he and Colleen bought their first home computer, a Commodore 64, which was followed some years later by a Commodore Amiga 500. They and their son spent many happy hours playing computer games and communicating on the fledgling Internet, beginning with Q-link which later became AOL.

Colleen is a mother, grandmother and retired high school teacher. When she was a teenager, she worked several summers on the Asbury Park boardwalk selling hats and souvenirs. During her lunch break, she discovered an arcade game machine in front of the luncheonette next door. This was the start of her love of computer gaming and later, computer hardware. Over the years, somehow she became the IT technician for all of their relatives which has resulted in our computer room and a closet being filled with computer parts, video cards, hard drives and wires of every type imaginable. Along with their more recent PCs, they still have the Commodore 64 and the Amiga 500, being reluctant to ever part with these beloved old machines.
