In the last few years, there has been increasing interest in AVG Antivirus. The company is Grisoft which was founded in 1991 in Orno, Czech Republic. Their goal was to provide the most reliable protection against computer viruses.

Today it’s one of the fastest growing IT companies, with more than a 50% growth in 2006. AVG products are available in over 170 countries and languages. AVG scanning products have repeatedly received some of the highest awards for their detection & elimination technology.

Grisoft’s AVG products are sold exclusively through distributors. Our local distributor, Dave Watley and his wife will be at our meeting and will have with them a Security Expert from Grisoft who will make the presentation.

Dave started his company, "Waytek" in 1971 and presently employs 12 people. They are a premier information technology service located in Voorhees, NJ.

You may have noticed AVG Antivirus ads starting to appear in the most popular PC magazines. They stress that their product is both capable and light. While it’s excellent at finding and deleting viruses (viri?), Trojans, spyware and other malware, it also leaves a light footprint. It’s a well know fact that the best known AV programs will slow down any PC that’s more than a few years old. Not AVG. It runs on 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Linux, you name it and this product won’t bog you down.
