Peter Laudati

Windows 7

By Lee Maxwell
and Doug Powell

Want to get the scoop on Windows 7 just before its official release? A sudden change in speakers for the October General Meeting makes that possible.

The scheduled speaker, Joel May, suffered a sudden illness and had to cancel his appearance. Instead, Peter Laudati, a Microsoft Developer Evangelist (DE), will speak on the upcoming release of Windows 7, which is scheduled for release to retail outlets this month.

As a DE, Peter has two roles. He spends half  of his time providing support and education for Microsoft customers working with the .NET development platform.  He spends the other half supporting the community of .NET developers at large through user group activities, helping out at various events such as Code Camps, and his blog, http://blogs.msdn.com/peterlau/

He recently took on the Developer Evangelist role after spending several years working in Microsoft Consulting Services. As an MCS guy, he worked on architecture and development projects for large enterprise customers throughout the metro area.

Married with two children and a dog, this New Jersey native’s interests include his family, kayaking, biking, music, radio, and his alma mater’s team, the Virginia Tech Hokies.
