MEETING DATE: |
|
Jim McEowen obtained an electrical engineering degree from Villanova and served in the U.S.Navy in the 50s.In 1959 he joined Bell Labs and while there obtained a
PhD in computer engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He has also accumulated eighteen patents.
In 1989 Jim joined a wireless communications company called RAM Mobile Data which put together the first wireless messaging network now used by the ubiquitous Blackberry designed by Research in Motion of Canada. RAM eventually became part of BellSouth & then Cingular Wireless. Jim retired from Cingular as a Vice President of Technology. Jim has never owned a PC. He has owned and used a lot of Macintosh computers. His presentation will be a slide presentation providing an overview of laptop and desktop Macintosh computers and will include the newest Macintosh Operating System. He will also describe and demonstrate some of the unique features of the Mac. His objective is to show why he believes Macintosh computers are a superior choice compared to others. I am sure all of our Macintosh users will enjoy this month's program.
