"Landscaping by Design --
The Use of Computers in the Landscaping Industry"
MEETING DATE: October 21, 2011

We're a computer user group. We like to hear about computers and how we can utilize them in our daily lives. So what makes Mark a candidate to speak to our user group about computers? It is because Mark cannot do his work without them. Mark is an established landscape designer who relies on computer programs to implement the ideas of his clients. In the field of landscaping, much of the work of planning and executing a design today is done with these special computer applications. Although these programs are expensive and probably beyond the needs of a regular homeowner, there are some consumer-level applications available which
follow similar guidelines.

At last, the mystery of how landscapes are created is solved. Mark's extensive background in design makes him an ideal candidate to speak about using the appropriate materials to complete someone's outdoor areas, and his computer expertise makes this possible. With the help of computer technology, Mark's company can quickly and easily arrange, change and add elements to their designs with exact measurements. The design can also become a working drawing during the installation process.

By Design Landscapes' Mark Napolitano is a certified and experienced landscape designer with additional experiences as a plant health care consultant, horticulturist, and tree expert. He successfully completed
the Landscape Design Certificate Program at Rutgers University and also has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design from Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Mark is an active member in NJNLA, NJLCA, APLD, and AHS. He is also the Chairman of Howell Township's Shade Tree Commission, and President of the NJ Chapter of VectorWorks.

Come hear how Mark takes people's rough ideas and transforms them into beautiful, creative, workable designs!
