Kathy Jacobs "Social Media and the Rest of Us" MEETING DATE: June 15, 2012 |
Kathy Jacobs, 2011 APCUG President, is our scheduled speaker at our third and final Spring Webinar on Friday, June 15 at our regular general meeting. She regularly speaks at user group meetings around Arizona and around the US. She speaks at conferences on OneNote, Social Media, and APCUG whenever she can. Kathy is well-versed in the needs and concerns of our members and has agreed to speak to us about social media and where it is today.
Kathy will provide us with a humorous look at the online world, Social Media and the rest of us, will help you learn what the heck all these new sites are all about. Twitter? Facebook? Pinterest? Flickr? Blogs? LinkedIn? Instagram? What the heck is all of this?
Our resident social media geek will share with you the best tips on what these sites are all about, why it matters, and how they can help you stay connected with your family and friends. Although many of us are probably tired of hearing about the benefits of being on these sites, there is so much more that we can learn. Especially if you are a business owner or want to increase your traffic by networking online. There are still many concerns about safety and privacy, and Kathy can answer those questions at our meeting.
Kathy currently works in the world of social media; she is a social media geek who loves to connect people with who and what they need. She believes that the best way to build a user base is to make sure that the product being presented is the best it can be. Give people a good product and a good story to share and they will share it naturally.
Kathy is active on the social web as “CallKathy”. In her spare time, Kathy is an active member of the PodCampAZ team where she has also been a speaker multiple times.
Social Media isn't just for your grandkids. Come play and learn more!
